天才の軌跡
日本での知名度は低いのです。が、ジェリー・ガルシアは同時代のアメリカの若者に与えた影響力において、ジョン・レノンに匹敵する天才でした。ジョンの天才が、主に詩人としての言葉にあったのに対して、ガルシアはグレイトフル・デッドを率いた長期の演奏旅行という生き方と、ギタリストとしてのプレイによって、卓越していました。よりロックのミュージシャンであったと言えるでしょう。ドラッグで健康を害する前の時代の記録です。天空に飛翔する、奇跡のようなライヴに入っていて下さい。若いロック・ファンに薦めます。
従来盤を持ってる人は全員買い直し！
とにかく、RHINOのリマスター・ワークにはびっくり。
従前、「ホントにライヴなの？」と疑っていたDisc-6の1.は、まるで別テイクじゃないのと思わせるほどの音質。間違いなくライヴ録音でした（笑）。
とにかく質、量とも完璧。まさしく決定版です。
RHINOにはぜひとも、70年代中期、アリスタに配給権が移る前の数枚についても、同様の仕事を期待します。
黄金の道を辿ろう！
驚きと歓び満載で、大満足の内容でした。まず、リマスターワークの素晴らしさに驚かされます。「え、別テイクじゃないの？」とオリジナルと聴き比べたことも・・・。大幅に迫力が増していると同時に、音の輪郭がくっきりと粒立っていて、まるで見違えるようです（特にフィルのベースが素晴らしい）。そして、ボーナストラックのスゴい演奏の数々！ しかも、選曲もオフィシャルの内容を補完するように吟味されていて、デッドをこれから聴いてみたいと思ってる人にもお勧めできる内容になってます。そのほかにも、ちょっとしたサプライズが用意されていたり・・・。デッド好きには堪らない最高のボックスセットでした。
DEAD最高
グレートフルデッドの初期音源も含めて、大ボリュームの内容。音もよくなったし、とにかく言うことなし。
