訓練された声とアンサンブル
ロバートショウ室内合唱団によるクリスマス・アルバム。
世の中に満ち溢れている華やかなクリスマスソングを集めたものではない。このCDのイメージはまさに『聖夜』。訓練された声を抑制して響きだけを輝かせながら、精緻なアンサンブルを構築していく。

個人的に、単旋律から開始されたおごそかな音楽の流れの中、聖夜をより神秘的で美しいものにしてくれる７番、LauridsenのO magnumに遷移し、その後パンチの効いた８番を歌い上げ、９番、BieblのAve Mariaが静かにはじまる、この流れは涙なしには聴けないものがある。抑制された声による珠玉の響きと精緻なアンサンブルは、まさにこの流れのためにある。

ただ７１分を超えるアルバム、BGMとするにはよいが、深く聞き込むには少々長いか？というわけで☆４つ。
